Life and DeathChapter Four “We won’t let you down Pyrite. Never!” – Katie The destruction of their beloved planet happened in a blink of an eye. Only the guardians and their protectors stood to face the evil that had invaded and destroyed their home planet. As Pyrite stood facing their enemy, with her friends, she couldn’t help but feel that she had failed somewhat. “I honestly thought you would put up more of a fight guardian. I suppose you are all talk.” “You shut your mouth Mera or I will shut it for you!” Eva shouted, sparks of lightning shot over her fists. “Don’t Eva. I still need you to scout the planet for any more survivors.” Pyrite stopped her. “There are no survivors because you failed!” Mera shouted as Pyrite shot a dangerous glare at her. “Be careful Mera. You are jealous of our powers because you were never chosen to be one of us.” Mera gritted her teeth and anger then cried out, “Shut up!” Pyrite gasped as she watched her launch two balls of dark energy at Katie and Rare. Eva growled then shouted while running towards her, “That’s it! Terra Lightning Blast!” She whipped out her sword and held it in front of Mera sending a wave of lightning at her. Mera struck back, sending the guardian of lightning and earth flying back against a fallen crystal column. “Three down, two more to go.” Pyrite took a protective stance in front of Kari. “You had better leave us or I will be forced to kill you. I do not take my powers lightly; you and I both know this.” “Fool that you are Death. You could rule the universe and yet you choose to stay a guardian.” “Some of us are true to our posts. I will forever be the Guardian of Death.” Pyrite replied. “Then you choose a path that makes you serve others forever.” “That is the point you self-serving idiot!” Mera lunged forward at the older guardian, her arms outstretched with energy bursting from her fingertips. Pyrite defended herself, catching the other woman with the end of her scythe. “Kari run!” “No Death-sama! We are in this together!” “Then use your chain! Hurry!” She shouted back as she held off the other woman. Kari nodded then swiftly hooked her two discs together and cried out, “Soul Disc Chain!” A long chain wrapped around Mera’s shoulders as Kari kept hold of the chain tightly. “You fool!” Mera shouted at Kari as she burst from the chain. She thrust a ball of energy at her with one hand, sending Kari flying backwards as well. Pyrite growled as she caught hold of Mera by the throat. “It is one thing to mess with me, but it is another to hurt my betrothed. You will die.” She glared into the eyes of her enemy and shouted, “Death Reborn!” Her powers drained from her as she enclosed the woman in a black sphere and sent it flying into space. Pyrite knew that she would be back in several hundred years, hopefully by then she would regain her powers. Pyrite knew that she had to send her people to someplace safe. She threw her hands in the air as her scythe fell to the ground. “Death Reborn!!” She cried in the air as she felt what little of her powers being drained away. Pyrite knew that after she sent her friends and the people of their planet left to planet Earth, she would have little power left for herself. She watched with tears in her eyes as her friends and the people of the planet were sent to live new lives. She fell to the ground as her energy drained from her. The last thing the guardian remembered seeing was the black sky full of stars. :: Guardian Files :: Galleria :: Archives :: Miscellany :: |
