Life and DeathChapter Two “You can’t be protective of us forever Pyrite. Stop acting like a mother hen because we are helping you whether you like it or not.” – Rare Kari felt her heart beat quickly in her chest as she caught sight of Death-sama. Her Death-sama. She loved the older woman more than anything or anyone on Crystalia. She wanted to please the guardian. She straightened her indigo dress as she walked on unsteady legs towards Pyrite. As she walked towards her old friend she spotted some of the other guardians mingling in the crowd. Most notably was the fiery princess of the Flare domain, Rare, who wore a dress of pure red with orange sheer material flaring about around her hips. Several men surrounded her as she talked with them. Then that familiar voice interrupted her thoughts, the voice of her Death-sama. “Princess Kari, you look beautiful as usual.” Kari looked up at Death-sama and gasped at the beauty of the princess of the Death domain. She stood tall and regal, her straight white hair swept back in a long ponytail while her body was covered by a simple yet elegant silk black dress. She really looked like the princess of the Death domain. “Thank you. You look elegant as well.” Pyrite smiled as she tipped the younger girl’s head up so their eyes could meet. “It has been a while since I have seen you. You and the other girls are growing. Soon you will be able to join me in battle.” Kari smiled at Pyrite as the older girl offered her arm. Kari took her arm and walked with her to the refreshment table. “How has life been on the outer rim?” Kari questioned her as Pyrite gave Kari a glass of champagne and took one for her as well. “Busy as usual. I prefer to stay on Crystalia as much as possible.” Pyrite replied as she took a sip of champagne. “What have you been doing?” “The normal things on the outpost of Crystalia. I watch for attackers that might attack the planet.” She took another sip then took Kari’s hand in hers. “Come with me Kari.” Pyrite led the younger girl out to the balcony which overlooked the city. “What is it?” Kari questioned the older woman as their eyes connected. “It is time I asked you something. Do you remember when you and the girls started training with me?” “Yes...yes I remember.” She replied then thought back to that wonderful day. Kari was finally sixteen years old and she was ready to train with Death-sama. She was ready to put her powers to good use as Sailor Crystal Soul. She would make Death-sama proud of her. The Outpost on Crystalia was at the furthest part of the planet near the domain of Terra. It was a large fortress in the trees where the Guardians were trained to protect the planet. Kari exited her quarters and walked carefully up to the gathering area. She bit her lower lip as she saw Pyrite laughing with Rare. Kari did not despise Rare nor hate her; she just could not stand her. Being a defensive senshi, she had such a standoff with Rare because she was an offensive senshi. Rare often snubbed it in her face that she was the better because of it. On top of that the fiery senshi flirted with her Death-sama! Kari took a seat on a soft pillow as Pyrite stood up and said, “Welcome to your training senshis’. Today you assume the most important part of your identities. You are guardians now and from now on you will be constantly training to protect this planet.” “Some of us will need more training than others.” Rare snickered. Kari bit her lip as not to say anything. “No. Everyone will need equal training.” Pyrite interjected. Kari saw Pyrite tighten her jaw in anger and knew that Rare had directed that comment to her. She smiled at her and said, “It is alright Pyrite. It only means that I can spend extra time with you.” “Let us begin our training. You do not have a long time to train.” Pyrite said. A few hours later, Pyrite stood with Kari in the gathering area overlooking the trees. “Don’t mind Rare. She is only trying to get at you. You and I both know that.” “Pyrite, I want you to train me.” “I will. Don’t worry about it. You will be the best defensive senshi in the galaxy.” Kari smiled and grasped the older senshi’s arm. She leaned her head against her shoulder as Pyrite smiled. “I love you Death-sama.” “I love you too Kari.” “I remember it very well Death-sama.” “My love has always been for you Kari. There is no one in this universe who can take that away.” Pyrite said to the younger girl. “Then we will marry some place in which we can freely live on our beloved planet.” Kari said excitedly. Pyrite smiled warmly at the younger senshi. “Kari, I will go anywhere and everywhere for you.” Kari took hold of Pyrite around her waist and hugged her tightly. “Oh Death-sama, I always dreamed of this.” Pyrite smiled again as she held Kari in her arms. “I am glad that I could fulfill your dreams Kari. :: Guardian Files :: Galleria :: Archives :: Miscellany :: |
